Five On Friday-Nominate DIY Bride!!

It's that time again...Five on Friday!!
1. So to start off my 5...I know this is a long shot, but it doesn't hurt to try...right? So the Wedding Magazine is doing their first wedding blog award with association with The Ritz London. I'm super excited about this, but not too excited because my small little humble wedding space probably won't get the time of big time editor's. Nominate DIY Bride
So basically for me to be able to win, my readers have to vote for my blog. It truly only takes about a minute. Every reader who nominates this blog will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a fabulous beauty hamper!! YAY, right?!
The voting closes September 5th. I would love it, and appreciate it if my readers would go vote for my humble wedding space!! Please, and thank you!
I will supply my readers with the VOTE for DIY BRIDE HERE Link
2. It's been in the works for a few weeks now, and I finally finished installing it all yesterday! Yay! I hope all my readers like the end product. It fits my personality! I started my blog design called: Jessilee Imagine&Create Blog Love. If you like my blog, and want to get some ideas rolling for your blog, just email me, and let's do it!!
3. Newlyweds:North Stephanie is doing a link up party called Kick Off Week! I've aleady linked my blog to this lovely ladies blog. My University is UCF and I'm a Knight! Wooo! Now I haven't really gone to a game, because the campus gets super crazy on game day that they actually cancel classes if theirs a game. I do support the Knights all the way, with all my Knightly attire I've purchased, and that has been given to me. Yesterday was the first game of the season for my UCF Knights!! GO KNIGHTS! We played Akron Zips. We stole out first win of the season with 38-7. WOW!! The Knights are still a young team, and we'll definitely get up to the big time standards one day. As a UCF Knight I support my Universities football team all the way!

#2 Happy Fifty Shades of a Grey Hump Day

This week on a very happy Fifty Shades of a Grey Hump day I am reviewing the character Anastasia Steele. Anastasia Steele is the main character of the Fifty Shades Trilogy. In the very beginning of the book, Anastasia is a Senior at Washington State University majoring in English Literature. Right off the bat in this book Anastasia gives off the impression that she doesn't have much of a self-esteem. It's clear in the beginning that she doesn't know or realize that she really is beautiful. In the book she describes herself as being pale, brown-haired, and having way too big blue eyes. She is a natural beauty, but dresses herself down with casual wear such as jeans, and t-shirts. She lives with her roommate Kate Kavanagh, who she views to be very beautiful. Anastasia Steele is a smart young woman who at the same time is very smart. She has an easy way about her as a character, and likes to please others. She is by all means very innocent in the first book, and as the series continues she grows into a woman. It's a sweet journey to follow this character as she grows. The reason why I feel like this movie is "the" most anticipated movie of 2014, is because so many women have read this trilogy! It's being passed down, recommended, and reviewed by many. Since this book was on the New York Best Seller, and has had a huge following every woman is invested in the characters. They expect the best actress to be selected for the main role because as we read these books we are envisioning what Anastasia looks like in our imagination. Anastasia Steele in my imagination follows the description the book gave of her from her point of view to her love interest Christian Grey's point of view. She is pale, soft and a hidden beauty. She has big blue eyes that are soft, and innocent. She has a girlish, shy personality, and is still young. Her hair is brown and not very well maintained but still she is pretty. Below are the top contenders for me, and some of the worlds picks. 1. The actress on the top of my list is...Emilia Clarke (Now I am aware that she isn't interested in doing nude scenes which would eliminate her from the Ana list, but you never know she might change her mind due to how popular this movie will be!)

2. Dakota Johnson (She maybe a little older but I think she could pull it long as she dye's her hair brown.)

3. Alexandra Daddario- She fits perfectly! She is truly my second pick(Dakota cam second, because the rumors have been flying around that they are considering her for the part) Alexandra has the brown hair, and big beautiful blue eyes just like Anastasia. Her age fits perfectly as well!

4. I know Alexis Blendel has been on every one's list, but she's certainly not on mine. She's way too old for this role. Some people neglect to realize that she's actually 32 years which makes her 10 years too old to play this role. I will put a photo of her but I am just doing it for my readers.
5. Another one that I don't agree with is, Emma Watson. I think she's an amazing actress, but since this actress lacks blue eyes, she's not a good fit. Some will say its not important, but then I will question if you read the book. The blue eyes are a theme in this book and are mentioned throughout the whole trilogy.
6. So let's scratch out all those actresses who don't have blue eyes, and are too old for the part... which would include Mila Kunis.
                                                                    Kristin Kreuk
Lucy Hale
The most annoying suggestion is the girl from Vampire Diaries...Nina Dobrev
7. Kristen Stewart shouldn't even be considered because she already played Isabella Swan from Twilight. She lucked out on that role despite her poor acting skills. Scratch her out completely!
That's all I have for now, and I hope whoever they decide to pick for the character Anastasia Steele, they stay true to the description that's in the book! Let me know who you would prefer to play Anastasia Steele, whether I listed the actress or not. I want to hear from you.
Next week I will be reviewing the best character!! Christian Grey! Yum!! Stay tuned. Thank you for reading, and following me. Be sure to enter in my current giveaway before it ends September 1, 2013 at midnight. Here is the link:

To Facebook or NOT to ?

I have been thinking about making a facebook page for DIY Bride for a while. I'm not completely sold on the idea, but a few of my followers have asked me if I was on facebook. I need help trying to decide whether I should make one or not. I guess the reason why I'm still up in the air about facebook is, because certain facebook friends might start getting a little too involved in my blog. Some may roll their eyes, some may start gossiping, some will be haters, and some will report all my activities to undesirable people. So I just don't know if I should? I could just make a brand new facebook, but it would be nice to log into one facebook for everything. I need guidance as to what my fellow bloggers think.
The main question would be....I'm I ready to tell all my friends and family that I have been blogging about my future wedding, etc.?
Will I get more followers, and exposure to my blog from Facebook? I know Facebook is the ultimate social media but then again will people look for me on Facebook, or for that matter find me?
I need help from some veteran bloggers, please help!

Five on Friday

Happy Birthday to my sweet, and very beautiful niece Christina Lora!! I remember when my sister gave birth to my niece 7 years ago! She went into labor during the weee morning hours, and I wasn't around. I remember, because as she was texting me, I was working at a learning center. The minute I found out, I begged my boss to let leave. Eventually after much convincing she allowed me to be at my sisters side. I got to the hospital too late, because my sister had already given birth to a beautiful baby girl...Christina. As I held this darling girl in my arms I couldn't help but fall in love with her immediately. She turns 7 today and it's as if she's grown over night!! Happy Birthday princess! We all love you!
This week I have been hosting a giveaway...if you've missed it check it out. Graphic Image and I have teamed up to giveaway a beautiful leather datebook. Color of the winners choice. You have 17 entries, which allow you more chances to win!! Enter today. Giveaway ends September 1, 2013. For more info, and to enter click here.
This week, I've been trying to decided whether I should host my very own blog hop. I need a partner in crime, with a fair amount of followers. I guess I'm looking for a blogger, who is creative and has their page all set up. Your blog needs a button, a creative header, cute social media buttons, etc. Not really an experienced blogger, but one who knows their way around promoting on all social media networks, and who's blog has been around more than one month. I haven't made any decisions about who to pair up with but still considering (Ads only been up for one day at the least) email me if your interested.
Classes started Monday, and I've visited all my classes. I think my professors are going to keep me very busy this semester. Which means late blog nights for me. One of the classes looks like it will be my favorite this semester...TSL. I'm taking it online since it's mainly only offered online, but the professor seems nice enough and I can't wait to finish building my TeSOL notebook.
This one's very important, so pay attention...I haven't had my cup of coffee yet, and it's 11:00 am...haha. I know, it's ridiculous, but I need a cup soon. (endin this post soon.) But before I go, here is my favorite find for this week. I found a blog planner on google today, and I was so happpy. I really need a blog planner, and this came just in time! I love it above any others I've seen out there. The website that offers this planner is called Girlfriends Are Like Shoes by Sarah. I made sure to leave a comment, because I was so happy with my Kickass blog planner! Thank you Sarah! If you want to get one too visit Sarah's blog here

Calling all BLOG HOPPERS

Hi everyone! I'm making this post, because I have been thinking about starting my own blog hop. I am aware that I can just start it on my own, but I really like doing things with a friend. I am looking for a friendly blog hopper who is looking to Co-host a blog hop. I have the button already done, and ready to go. If you haven't really had the opportunity to host (only been a cohoster) a blog hop, if you like blog hops, if you like working with a partner in crime, if you are as addicted to blog hops, and promoting your blog like I am...then I want you to be my partner in hosting a new blog hop!!
Just email me @ if your serious, and interested.

#1 Happy FIFTY Shades of a Grey Hump Day

In honor of the hot and very steamy novel by E.L. James Fifty Shades of Grey, I decided to make it my mission to review each character from the book and post who I think would best play the characters each week until I've run out of characters. (Or the cast list finally comes out)This week instead of discussing a character, I wanted to do a brief summary and review of the books! Just to get my readers started. First, I must tell you all if you haven't read these books...start now.
Basically this book takes place in Washington and the main character is Anastasia Steele who is a soon to be a college graduate. Anastasia finds herself filling in for her roommate to interview the most eligible bachelor and very successful wealthy businessman Christian Grey. A spark ignites during the interview and both characters are drawn to each other. The story takes off and the two find themselves in slaved in lust and desire. To make a long story short they both are scared to move forward in a troublesome unconventional relationship.
I really don't want to ruin or spoil the book for you so I'll end it at Christian Grey loves to dominate and make women submissive to him. The next two books keep up with the dark desires if Christian Grey and very innocent Anastasia Steele.
Next week on Happy Fifty Shades of a Grey Hump Day I will begin with the main character Anastasia Steele.

Mouse Monday {(Retelling Version)}

So in honor of school starting today in Orlando, FL I thought it would be a cute idea to share with my readers a project I worked on for my future classroom. It was an art project for my Literature class. If I have to do a school art project, I make sure I put everything I can into it. I worked on this for a few months, and I am super proud of it. Not to brag or anything, but when presenting this to my professor and classmates I felt like I might've out shined everyone else's retelling. I was asked so many questions about it, and it was passed around the whole classroom. All my classmates really took their time viewing each page of this one else's was passed around. I hate doing art projects half ass, and this retelling says it all.

On the back of each picture has a few sentences to go with the picture, so retelling the story to children will be clear and easy for the teacher.

If You Give a  Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff.

1. If you give a mouse a cookie,

2. He's going to ask for a glass of milk.

3. When you give him the milk,

4. He'll probably ask you for a straw.

5. When he's finished, he'll ask for a napkin.

6. Then he'll want to look in a mirror to make sure he doesn't have a milk mustache.

7. When he looks into the mirror, he might notice his hair needs a trim. So he'll probably as for a pair of nail scissors.

8. When he's finished giving himself a trim, he'll want a broom to sweep up.

9. He'll start sweeping. He might get carried away and sweep every room in the house.

10. He may even end up washing the floors as well!

11. When he's done, he'll probably want to take a nap. You'll have to fix up a little box for him with a blanket and a pillow.

12. He'll crawl in, make himself comfortable and fluff the pillow a few times. He'll probably ask you to read him a story.

13. So you'll read to him from one of your books, and he'll ask to see the pictures. When he looks at the pictures, he'll get so excited he'll want to draw one of his own. He'll ask for paper and crayons.

14. He'll draw a picture. When the picture is finished, he'll want to sign his name with a pen.

15. Then he'll want to hang his picture on your refrigerator. Which means he'll need scotch tape.

16. He'll hang up his drawing and stand back to look at it. Looking at the refrigerator will remind him that he's thirsty. SO...

17. He'll ask for a glass of milk. And chances are if he asks for a glass of milk,

18. He's going to want a cookie to go with it.
