Confessions of a Reckless Bride #1

Good day y'all!
Confessions of a Reckless Bride, is a new series I've come up with and will be featured on my blog at least once a week

What is Confessions of a Reckless Bride? -This is a series based on stories, adventures, advice, inspirations, and
planning from yours truly and guest brides. (If you're engaged, and care to make an entry in this series, email me for further information. I would love to have you.)

What is a reckless bride? - A reckless bride is a headstrong, mostly rash, adventurous, bold, and  fearless bride-to-be or newlywed ready to take on this world. She is carefree, and doesn't care what others think. (If you fit in this description email me for further information.)

Confession #1
It's been a hot minute since I've written a bridal post, and here is why...I no longer have a desire to get married! LOL I'm just kidding, but seriously, the reason why I haven't made bridal posts is because I haven't made any wedding plans. I'm a student teacher this semester (intern) and my time is limited to writing papers, working for free, and attending classes. This is just the beginning to how busy I'll be in the fall for my second intern experience :(

Unfortunate for me, I really want to get married in the month of November. What does this mean in terms of getting married this fall? Simply impossible! I haven't made the official announcement, so here it is...we are postponing the wedding yet another year :(
It's not something that makes me sad, but it is something that makes me irritable. Here's why...I've been with my fiancé for over 10 years. Which means our family and friends have been waiting to see us say our "I do's". It generally makes me uncomfortable to talk or be asked about wedding plans. I find myself repeating it over and over for years..."There are no wedding plans for this year!"

Have you ever felt someone judge you right after you said something that strikes them as questionable? I don't understand why this topic is quickly questioned. It is our lives, and not anyone else's, so our decisions should remain ours...right?

No, it's not because any of us have cold feet. We've been together for over 10 years, that's just ridiculous to say the least. We're not getting married this year, because I've started my Internships. I had no idea I was going to be this busy, and this distracted from making wedding plans. It's easy as that. I've come this far in my Elementary Education program to be distracted by stressful wedding planning. Once I graduate, I'll be a happy camper, and book a venue for fall of 2015.

Of course, I will do the small things that aren't distracting like finding a wedding dress, looking for bridesmaid dresses, finding inspiration, and continue as a happy bride.

I do love talking to other brides about their wedding planning so don't be afraid to drop me a line. Don't be shy or bashful I love hearing from my readers. At least let me know your a reader :)

I'm not a fellow bride-to-be, but feel free to vent away! Also, I totally know what you mean about feeling instantly judged; it's literally impossible to act yourself when you feel like people hang on your every word. It's exhausting. I'm with you, girl! Hope this week is fabulous for you! :)

  2. OMG! This is so me!!! My Fiance and I have been together for 11 years, working on 12 and have been engaged for nearly 1/2 of those years. It's just one thing after another happens and we just aren't able to get the funds together to get married! Everytime I think we are truely going to start planning and spending money on the wedding something happens. Someone loses a job, or we have to move, or there's a car problem! I completly understand! I have a wedding dress in my closet that I've had for about 3 years it seems like! I completly get you and you have my full support! I look forward to more posts! Hang in there! :)

  3. I just stumbled upon your blog wasnt even looking for anything wedding related but I absolutely love it! I am finishing my degree in elementary education too, i just finished my two internships this passed year and am going to start my year long student teaching full time. I've been engaged for 2 years now and its so annoying being asked about the wedding. I know your posts will be of much help and relief to me through all of this up and down wedding planning and finishing school. Great blog!
